A Green entrepreneur leading the charge for energy efficiency and fuel poverty reduction.

Chris Farrell is the Managing Director of Zenex Technologies, a British company founded in 2003 specialising in innovative energy saving products for both the domestic and commercial markets.

Chris is the inventor of a number of patented heating and hot water inventions that deliver significant energy, carbon and financial savings for householders. One of these is the GasSaver which is now recognised in UK Building Regulations, the Green Deal and European Legislations, creating new categories of energy efficiency. The Gas Saver is a Passive Flue Gas Heat Recovery technology, enabling gas boilers to become “super condensing” and achieve energy savings of up to 40% compared to the average boiler. Super condensing technology represents an opportunity for the UK to improve it’s housing stock and welfare bill, tackle fuel poverty, and stabilise the problematic energy situation the UK now faces.

In March 2012, Chris won ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ at the New Energy Awards in London, recognising his significant contributions to the cleantech sector. The panel was comprised of sector experts including environmental economist Paul Ekins from University College London, and John Loughhead from the UK Energy Research Centre.
